Junior Ranger

We had one goal in mind when we spent President's Day at Red Rock checking out some of the trails; J wanted to earn his Junior Ranger badge. Turns out, entrance to the park was free that day. Yay!  (All the older three children earned their badges in 2006!)  Thankfully the junior ranger program at Red Rock is pretty simple.  He only had to complete a certain number of pages based on his age. He learned more about the desert and animals in the red rock area while enjoying the great outdoors.

E is in the middle of the picture. He was climbing and exploring on his own while we completed the pages in J's book.
E is on the top of the cliff (in the middle of the picture). Made me wish I had brought along the 'real camera' instead of relying on my camera phone.

M used some of the free space to practice her jumps.

K did a wee bit of bouldering.

We found a little post where each of the kids practiced balancing.
