Funny how rubber bands are so much fun. Four years ago our kids were going crazy for rubberband bracelets (Silly Bandz). Now, they are using rubber bands to make bracelets. At first they were busy creating rubber band bracelets of their own on 'rainbow looms.' Now they have ventured into animals, people, and other various rubber band creations.
They created a pink monkey, blue & orange octopus, panda, red dragon, a gymnast, Cinderella, pencil grips, and tons of bracelets. They've made lots of custom bracelets to share with their friends. It's a nice activity that can be taken on the road. They converted an old 'art tool box' into their rubber band supply bin. The younger two bring the bin to E's volleyball games & basketball games when M is cheering. It gives them something fun to do when they are not actively cheering on their siblings.
