J has been very diligent in doing a little bit of cub scouts everyday. He has almost earned his Wolf achievement. During a recent cub scout meeting, his den leader asked what specific requirements J had left to complete. I mentioned that he needed to visit a fire station to learn about fire safety (& the requirements which involve flag ceremonies). Two days later his leader called to tell us about this community event! Awesome! J hung out with his buddy Wyatt as they did all sorts of free activities. They explored a safety house, went 'fishing', sat inside a medic helicopter, watched a demonstration of the firefighters using the jaws of life to cut open a car, won prizes in the raffle (a remote control car), and toured the fire station. Whew! What a well spent morning. We were so glad we went.
