Utah: Uncle & Road Trip Highlights

We drove on to Orem to visit with Uncle Ryan for a bit. We met up at Krispy Kreme for a snack.

Fit Bit Twins

We also found a geocache nearby the Krispy Kreme.

Usually when we go on road trips, the younger kids watch movies while the older kids read or sleep. To make the drive more exciting and promote family time, we had 'surprise bags' to open every 30 minutes or so.  Most of the bags had travel games/card games (connect four, uno, checkers, etc) we had around the house.  They were games which don't get used as much, so it was fun to play them again. Two bags had a movie from Redbox.  Another bag had pens and post its. Included with the activity in the surprise bags were yummy treats & candy. Success!! (At least they tolerated my attempt at cheesy family fun. They are good sports)

A favorite bag had scrap paper, tape, and toy cars. Working in teams they had to build a track to get their car from the front of the van to the back seat. Pretty fun.
