Church

When Dad was younger (around 5th grade or so) he was living in Kalihi Valley on Oahu. He and his brother would ride the bus to Waikiki to attend church at the Honolulu Tabernacle Chapel with Aunty Elvee and her family.  On Sunday, we attended church at the same chapel which brought back a flood of memories for Dad.

On the lawn of the chapel grounds rests a large banyan tree.  Dad remembers swinging from the vines as a kid.  Our kids gave it a try.

What do you get when you mix M, Grandma, and a Banyan Tree?

During the summers Mom stayed in Hawaii, this is the chapel where she attended the Aiea Ward. The chapel is literally across the street from Great Grandpa Kaahanui's house.  Aunty Vanessa still attends there with her family.
