J has a lot more free time on his hands than his older counterparts. The older three are usually swamped with homework, projects, and music practice. We went to the library for some inspiration. He found a book with several DIY ideas. He decided to make this cannon from cardboard, tubes, and a clay pot. We worked on the cannon a little each day.
Since all of our clay pots were busy growing plants, we ran to Home Depot one afternoon to grab a new one.
It's pretty cool. J inserts a ping pong ball into the top of the cannon. Then he pulls the smaller tube back using the tension on the rubberband to propel the ball across the room. What will he make next?
