We were able to visit E for a couple of minutes on his actual birthday long enough to sing him the birthday song and give him some love. We improvised with store brought cookies and some candles that wouldn't stay lit near the windy beach shore. It's the thought that counts! He looked (&smelled) like he had been having fun.
