This place is amazing. The Nature Exchange rewards 'young collectors' with points for every natural object. Young collectors are given points for all the information they can tell about the object. This can be in the form of a written or oral report. So, after collecting pine cones at Sunset Park, three of my kids did a little research and then wrote reports. And here's the kicker...they did it all on their own! Yay!! They turned in their pine cones and reports in exchange for points. Then they 'shopped' around for something to buy. The girls picked out sea shells. The boys picked out fancy rocks. Our youngest wanted the black rock i.e. lump of coal!
