Buster turned 3 on April Fool's Day! For his birthday we took him to play with other dogs at Spring Valley Park. He pranced around like a rabbit much to the amusement of the other dog owner's. Needless to say, not very many standard poodles visit the local dog parks. We've never seen another one. Buster loved running around. After wearing him out at the dog park, we stopped at Dog Heaven where each of the kids picked out a treat for him to eat! .
Truthfully, I am surprised that we own a dog. We rescued him from a shelter when he was a year old. He quickly became smothered with love from all the kids. Dad taught him all sorts of tricks. And even though, I am not a big dog lover, here are three reasons I am glad Buster is a part of our family:
1. His big bark scares away most of the sales people that knock on our door.
2. Our kids are learning a little more responsibility by taking turns feeding him.
3. He gives us a good excuse to walk to the park more often.
We are lucky to have such a good dog!
