Camping

His shirt says, "I only go to school for the girls."

Every year we reserve a group site at Red Rock Campgrounds. It seems so far away from the busy city life, when in reality its just a 20 minute drive over a small hill! The kids easily find all sorts of things to do. Among their favorites are picking up 'firewood', exploring the hills, and playing house with the tents. The older boys set up their tents and started the fire all on their own.
Dad tried a new stew recipe for his larger size dutch oven. In his other dutch oven, he made chocolate cake. Yummy!! As if that wasn't even sweets, we also made traditional s'mores. The kids played card games in their tents most of the night while the adults chatted around the warmth of the fire. Thankfully, the wind died down as we were heading to bed. It's hard to sleep when the tent is rattling!
The next day we breakfasted on muffins, honey buns, and fruit. The kids chased each other around. And then, before we knew it, it was time to pack up our gear and head home to watch conference. What a great little escape. We're glad the Williams came with us.
