Smoothies are a great after school treat, especially when its 110 degrees outside. Usually, our smoothies consisted of our version of an Orange Julius or a strawberry fruit blend. Then, I read about green smoothies. Thanks Katherine for opening our smoothie world to a new blend of smoothies. Who knew you could add vegetables to smoothies and still have it taste yummy?
Recently, we began experimenting with different veggies to add. We've tried broccoli but our favorite is spinach. Our kids eat spinach just for the fun of it so adding to a smoothie seemed like a no brainer. They loved it. While we do add veggies, we still prefer to drink something pink so we always add more fruit.
The best part is when E comes home. We don't always tell him what is in the smoothie! He just appreciates the delicious treat!
