"It's Saturday" Children's Chorus Performance

We are extremely proud of our younger two children for trying out this new experience.  They attended a 'music camp' for a week during which they learned songs and actions as part of the musical. "It's Saturday."  They also made a musical craft (banjo, harmonica, tambourine, etc) each day during their 3.5 hours with Ms. Kristina. They performed on friday at the Sahara Library.

Although K wasn't quite ready to sing a solo, she did recite several lines in addition to being a part of the chorus.  We consider her singing with actions and a smile quite an improvement from her usual attempts to stand in the back of all the primary children when they sing at church.

J also did well, earning the part of the "Boogie Woogie Piano Teacher."  He was so cute and did his best to show enthusiasm despite his nervousness.

If you have time check out this little video we made of J's singing part at the microphone.
K is also speaking at the very beginning of the segment.
The little girl in the apron is the "Mom."
K is one of the children.
Mom:  Good Morning
K: Mom, please keep it down. This is my favorite part. (They were watching Saturday cartoons)
Mom: Oh no you don't.  Sister has piano lessons. She needs her peace and quiet.
K: You know she hates piano lessons, right?
Mom: Nonsense.  She is very lucky.

Their cousin, Emma, was the one who told us about the Children's Chorus Camp.  We're so glad they could do it together.  (K might not have been enticed to attend without her cousin). Aunty Hazel also took some wonderful pictures.  Thank you!

The amazing, Mrs. Kristina Stucki.
The kids had a a blast learning songs and music with her.
Before singing a song during family night, these two made us warm up our voices with some of the drills she taught them.  Too funny.

Ms. Sydney was assisting during the camp.
We watched her perform, in Teen Harmony, at an earlier show.

Our little stars.... job well done you two!!!

A quick family snapshot.
