M's class had a field trip scheduled to Springs Preserve. Since, it is only a half mile from the middle school, the teachers always plan on walking to Springs Preserve. Apparently, they go on the field trip rain or shine. We walked the half mile in the rain. Our big 'sun umbrella' came in handy!
While waiting for the trails to open, our group of girls filled out their information packets on the outdoor displays. With the sun beginning to emerge from the clouds, the trails were finally deemed safe for visitors. We had to cover almost three miles searching for answers at various stations. We learned about water resources, spring mounds, indians, early settlers, etc.
It was nice to hang out with M and get to know her friends a little better.
