Scenes from the season

The weeks before Christmas are magical. Good things happen everywhere. Treats appear on your doorstep. Children are complete angels. & School parties are crazy!
The younger children passed out goody bags (73 total) to their classmates & gifts for their teachers.  We are thankful to their wonderful teachers for all they do to make school a positive experience.

Once school let out, we wanted to make peppermint bark. Before, we had a chance to start making our treats to share with our neighbors & friends, we began receiving lots of yummy surprises.  If I was faster, I would've taken more pictures of all the delicious desserts we received before the children (and I) devoured them. Maybe next year.

Creative friends are a treat in and of themselves. They lend great ideas for me to borrow. The Deguzman's spoiled us with Pecan Chocolate Pretzels.  Those of us who can eat nuts loved them! So instead of the peppermint bark we had planned to make, Pecan Chocolate Pretzels it was!  I am glad the kids enjoy delivering the treats, however, they were a little too hasty.  Some of the Christmas tins weren't completely filled.  So, to those of you who only received one layer of Pecan Chocolate Pretzels, please forgive the children who were too anxious to pass them out.

We did the kids annual picture at Bass Pro Shops. To shake things up, I thought it would be fun to put Buster in the picture!  He did great.  I think he enjoyed all the little kids coming up to pet him. I had a child ask me if he was a sheep or a dog?  Dad & Mom rotated standing in line with Buster while the kids played the complimentary games.

This is probably my most favorite Christmas tradition.....attending a performance of the Nativity by the Red Rock Stake.  It never fails to bring tears to my eyes. What a touching way to remember the true reason for the season.
